Don't Sugarcoat it

My goal for this project was to mix art and photos to really show the sugar. I used color for the sugar items and black and white for everything else. I tried to make it visually appealing by keeping the cohesiveness throughout the pages with fonts, colors and structure. I also added spirals to portray the daze you get in after you have too much sugar.

This was a sports article on the change in season for girls tennis. I used brighter colors replicating the sport and tried to show action for this design. I made it seem as if two tennis players were playing a game as one serves and the other receives with the ball in the middle as the pull quote.

This article focused on Native Americans in the area. I did tanner colors as they are more like the outdoors and clay. I added some art similar to natives. I also incorporated some photos I received to show Natives in the area and show their culture to everyone else.

This article focused on ballet, contemporary and tap dance. I used gold and stars to symbolize their performances. I did the outline art style for displaying how simplistic it looks but complex it really is. These colors matched with the overall issue as well because it was a winter theme.

This article was focused on fans and views of fans. The best way to showcase fans is by showing what they are fans of. This is why I included what they owned for the thing they liked. There was basketball, Kpop, and pop music. Adding the photo with the fans covering their face with a piece of their fan culture was to really show that this is what they liked in a special way not seen a lot.
